2. Principles

This website is a private site about my open-source projects. It does not use cookies, tracking or analytics tools, and it does not embed any third-party content. Fonts, images and all other files are served exclusively from my own server. Your browser therefore does not connect to any other providers when you visit the site.

3. Hosting

This website runs on a virtual server that I rent from netcup GmbH, in a data center in Nuremberg, Germany.

4. Server Log Files

To display the website to you, the server must process your IP address for technical reasons. Access logs, meaning records of individual page requests, are not stored.

The web server only logs an entry if a technical error occurs during a request. Such an entry may contain your IP address, the time of the request and the requested URL. It is used solely to fix errors and to ensure the secure operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. Error logs are automatically deleted after 7 days.

5. Encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).

6. Retrieval of Project Data from GitHub

To display the current version and the date of the last change on the project pages, my server regularly retrieves publicly available information about my repositories from GitHub. This retrieval takes place independently of your visit. No visitor data is transmitted to GitHub.

7. External Links

This website contains links to external services, in particular GitHub, Credly and Creative Commons. You only leave this website when you click such a link. The respective provider is responsible for data processing on the linked pages. This website is configured so that your browser does not disclose which page you came from when you click a link.

8. Contact by Email

If you send me an email, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in responding to your inquiry. Your message will be deleted once it has been dealt with, provided there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary. My email provider is mailbox.org, operated by Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Berlin.

9. Your Rights

Within the scope of the statutory provisions, you have the right to:

  • Access to your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise your rights, an email to the address above is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, LDI NRW), which is responsible for my place of residence: www.ldi.nrw.de.
